Dr Belinda Morrison-Blidgen

Senior Lecturer and Head of the Division of Urology

Dr Belinda Morrison-Blidgen is a Consultant Urologist at the University Hospital of the West Indies. She is currently a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Division of Urology at the University of the West Indies as well as Program Director of the Urology postgraduate training. She completed undergraduate and postgraduate training at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus and an elective in urology at the University of Toronto, Canada. Her areas of academic interest include prostate cancer and andrology, specifically in sickle cell disease, where she has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. Dr Morrison has made many local, regional and international presentations to audiences in her field of urology, distinguishing herself in being awarded the American Urological Associations best poster prize on two occasions. She is extensively involved in research, particularly as it related to describing the epidemiology of urological disorders in sickle cell disease in Jamaica. Dr Morrison is a volunteer at the Sickle Cell Unit where she performs regular monthly clinics. She is the immediate Past President of the Jamaica Urological Society, President of the Caribbean Urological Association and member of the Medical Association of Jamaica, American Urological Association and Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
